Rospatent will launch a service that allows businesses to assess the uniqueness of a trademark. Deputy head of the department Yuri Zubov spoke about this at the III International Conference “Digital Transformation: Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence Trends”.
Now the information service “Search for Similar Images” is being tested by Rospatent experts. It is expected to be put into commercial operation by the end of the year. All applicants will have access to the tool. In the service, for free 24/7, entrepreneurs will be able to evaluate how unique the unique trademark, logo, graphic image or word designation they have created is.
As Yuri Zubov explained, the tool will allow a business to independently conduct an examination for a preliminary assessment of the degree of individuality of a trademark, to clarify and detail groups of potentially similar trademarks.
The service uses such artificial intelligence technologies as Alpha Query Expansion, image transformation technology during training, mining of complex examples during training (XBM), as well as an ensemble of three neural networks of the ResNet-50 architecture, added the deputy head of Rospatent.
By the end of 2021, the department plans to launch 11 new information systems. They will provide access to the world patent fund for an unlimited number of Russian inventors, scientists and entrepreneurs.
