Step 1 – Install Java
1.1 Go to:
1.2 wget
1.3 tar -xvf jdk-7-linux-x64.tar.gz
1.4 sudo mkdir /usr/lib/jvm/
1.5 sudo mv ./jdk1.7.0 /usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0
1.6 sudo update-alternatives –install “/usr/bin/java” “java” “/usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0/bin/java” 1
1.7 sudo update-alternatives –install “/usr/bin/javac” “javac” “/usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0/bin/javac” 1
1.8 sudo update-alternatives –install “/usr/bin/javaws” “javaws” “/usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0/bin/javaws” 1
1.9 sudo update-alternatives –config java
1.10 sudo update-alternatives –config javac
1.11 sudo update-alternatives –config javaws
1.12 java -version
It should Reply
java version “1.7.0”
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-b147)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 21.0-b17, mixed mode)

Step 2 – Install mono
2 – sudo apt-get install libmono-system-web2.0-cil libmono-i18n2.0-cil

Step 3 – Copy configured McMyAdmin-Latest
Make sure the default password has been changed

Step 4 – Set Minecraft to Start on Boot Up
Edit the in McMyAdmin-Latest, Add this
cd /minecraft/McMyAdmin-Latest

and an “&” after “mono McMyAdmin.exe” so it looks like this “mono McMyAdmin.exe&”

    When I do the tar command to extract the java download it comes back with gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
    tar: Child returned status 1
    tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

  2. ARE you crazy. What the hell is all that giberish! I just want to run my own minecraft server. Why can''t nobody just give me a simple anwser! I am littery pulling my hair out and it hearts. I don't want to use Wine, or purchase anything, I just want to run a simple Minecraft server without my head blowing up.

  3. When I oppen McMyAdmin via my server ip + port 8080 , everything is fine but when I enter admin and my password it say : you don't have permissions to acces …

  5. I'm still confused about the host name and root is this linux only err….. I really want a dedicated server but I want to know how to do it before I pay for vps.

  6. @mrdt1993 interesting… well try a couple of things. make sure your reads as follows.

    cd /minecraft/McMyAdmin-Latest/
    mono McMyAdmin.exe

    save it
    chmod +x

    then try
    sh and adding it to your rc.local
